Crafted in silk georgette, this saree experiments with vibrant seasonal colour and contrasting scales. Royal pink and brown crush-dyed elements replace the traditional border on a peach base, fading into tonal hand block print. Striking floral accents adorn the pallu and peep through the pleats.
This saree showcases a beautiful play of techniques in hand-dyeing and block printing. Banu, Yashodara and Shama spent several hours carefully hand-dipping sections of fabric in hues of pink dye baths prepared at our studio. Indira worked with Krishna Bhatt to place hand-cut stencils to create large scale peach flowers, while Satish selected a dozen interesting floral blocks to create the overall print layout.
Working with the pattern-dyed ground, Yashodara and Banu hand-mixed 14 unique shades to complement the multi-coloured base. Almost 80 man-hours were put into printing this saree. Once printed, the silk was slowly cooked in steam for several hours to fuse the colour into the fabric. Chandramma carefully unwrapped and hand washed it with a gentle soap, after which the drying process revealed the eclectic mix of vibrant and tonal colours of this contemporary yet vintage print design.
Each saree is packaged in a handmade cover, with a floral sachet and a note signed by our artisan family. Gift this to yourself or someone you cherish!
