This light linen saree is a summer classic. Our favourite vintage jacarandas, roses, leaves and petals spill out into a joyful bouquet framing the saree and pouring into the pallu. In soft subtle colours, this composition is a happy outpouring embellished with delicate embroidery on the pallu; a celebration of Bangalore’s seasonal bounty.

The making of this product

This soft and airy linen fabric came from expert master weavers, specially for this saree. To recreate a garden bouquet, Shama and Indira found a variety of vintage floral “buttis” or motifs of different sizes and styles. These wood blocks were acquired in the 1970s and have a timeless aesthetic, complementing our city’s floral-scape.

A fresh palette of soft organic pastels were hand-mixed by our experts Banu and Chandramma. To achieve subtle colour variations, the dyes and colour trays were fine-tuned and Shankaranna printed each motif with its multiple layers. Indira planned the saree layout to showcase the beautiful linen weave and its customised woven satin border.

A unique addition to this is scattered hand-embroidered rose buds highlighting block print.

Each saree is packaged in a handmade cover, with a floral sachet and a note signed by our artisan family. Gift this to yourself or someone you cherish!
